How to say "I was at the supermarket yesterday"?? (imperfect vs. prederite)?

Ok, let's say you were saying ONLY this sentence (no second part or anything), would you use "estuve" or "estaba", if you were there for like 20 minutes (I thought that the imperfect gets a bit tricky around here)....thanks
