Who is right...the doctor or my home testing blood pressure tester?
Any stroke or heart problems in your family history? Are you diabetic? Are you overweight? The standards of "normal" BP have lowered slightly for some groups with other health issues.. and the blood pressure equipment used properly in a Dr's office may be more accurate than your at home. The doctor should be able to explain why he gave you meds. to put you at ease. You might want to bring your tester to the office and do it there - there are some who always test higher in the office (white coat syndrome).
