I have NVidia Mother board 1066 FSB and C2duo 2.8GHz. 2GB RAM?

My Problem is that my PC is not performing up to the mark. is it due to the CPU being from Pentium III family, coz my friend has dual core 3Ghz processor with 1 GB ram and it is way too faster than my PC. I am having Mother board of ASUS NVIDIA GeForce 7050 (P5N73-AM). ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED !!!
